Thank you to everyone who attended our BLHO meeting at the Royal Esquire Club last night! Our guest speakers provided a wealth of information and answered many of our questions!
Event Highlights
The King County Assessor, John Wilson , gave an excellent presentation with great updates and content. Some of the key takeaways were that the Senior Tax Exemption has increased substantially to $84,000 and that property taxes are up 5.1%. Staff from the assessor's office were also able to address our concerns about our assessments matching our actual property characteristics and overall customer service for our community. We will be sending out his slides via email.
The speakers from the City Of Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections also came to educate our members about the overall process of improving our property with ADU/DADUs and the permit process. They also acknowledged some of the inconsistencies that our members are getting when it comes to inspections and information vital to their projects. The Permit Process Leader gave us her direct contact for us to use when we encounter barriers with their office!
