We had a great Black Legacy Homeowners meeting last week at the Royal Esquire Club. There was so much to talk about, from Development to Estate Planning to the Senior Tax Exemption!
Event Highlights
The best part of these meetings is the neighbor to neighbor information sharing! Caleb from officialupliftig came and told us about a person that wanted to put a DADU (Cottage) in their backyard and after they reviewed the zoning, it turns out that they can build a 16 unit apartment building! 🤯💪🏿 They are going to build 10 units so their whole family can come home!
We also heard more cautionary stories 😔 A person told us about their cousin who is losing their home because they have a medical issue that requires them to be in a nursing home and since they didn't have their home in a TRUST, the nursing home is putting a lien on the home. 😢
